The Berry Fund
Established as a holiday bake sale in 1994, The Berry Fund Charitable Organization works to help people, families and organizations in need throughout our neighboring communities. Having raised $700 it’s first year, Berry Fund organizers never imagined that over a decade later it would average over $125,000 annually, thanks to the generous contributions of friends, colleagues and employees. One hundred percent of the funds raised are distributed to the less fortunate, as William A. Berry & Son, Inc. underwrites all administrative costs.

Exemplifying the philosophy, culture and values of Berry, The Berry Fund goes beyond basic corporate citizenship. It not only responds to the immediate needs of others, but it also sponsors annual events of giving:

  • Generous contributions help Berry Fund members shop and personally deliver more than 1,000 gifts to children all across New England. “We thank The Berry Fund for the very generous donation of toys we received this holiday season. [You] helped at least 100 New England Medical Center families.”
  • Helping to spread literacy, The Berry Fund gives countless books to institutions such as the Welch Elementary School and Massachusetts General Hospital. “During these difficult economic times, your commitment to literacy is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.”
  • Committed to finding a cure for cancer, The Berry Fund hosts bone marrow drives where colleagues are able to personally help individuals in need of bone marrow transplants.
  • The Berry Fund helps feed thousands of hungry individuals by giving to organizations such as Project Bread, Community Servings and Salem Mission.
  • Helping empower thousands of women to live free of fear, intimidation, violence and the threat of abuse, The Berry Fund provides support for family crisis centers. “Your donation is helping us give women and children the opportunity to heal, which requires a commitment from the entire community.”
