on-trac Safety
The only construction company nationwide to earn Liberty Mutual's Gold Award for safety, Berry has one of the best safety records in the industry. However, our efforts do not rest with that accomplishment. Awareness of safety is part of our culture, and ensuring the safety of those on and around our sites is our number one priority. To be successful requires more than just a good safety program. Berry sees a successful, comprehensive safety program as having four key elements of quality:

Quality of our commitment to safety: We believe in and live by safe procedures each and every day. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we are all committed to helping keep our sites safe.

Quality of our personnel: Our dedicated personnel commit themselves to performing their best. Staying informed on safety updates, they proactively build their knowledge on the subject. Most importantly, they continually refresh their knowledge of safety procedures no matter how long they’ve been in the business.

Quality of the program itself: This is the core of safety – a well documented and thorough program. Berry’s program includes more than just a written plan. It includes training, on-line learning, orientations, planning, and collaboration.  Our aim is to provide the information our teams need to ensure safety on their sites.

Quality of the verification: The best programs mean nothing if everyone does not adhere to the program’s guidelines. With numerous levels of reporting and tracking, we verify that our program is followed to the letter.

With Q4 as a guiding philosophy for safety, Berry has a complete program that encourages continual learning with regard to safety. As part of that effort, we have regular training for our job site personnel and are members of the Massachusetts Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) Partnership, a voluntary OSHA supported safety program.
