on-trac Planning
Berry on•trac planning goes beyond what is normally referred to as planning, which includes schedules, logistics, construction management plans, etc. On•trac planning goes as far as pre-planning every subcontractors trade of work.

As soon as subs are brought on board, Berry works with them to develop a work plan, which includes their projected daily manpower and productivity rates from start to finish, anticipated material/equipment deliveries, safety plan and means and methods of hoisting materials and equipment into the project. With this plan, approved by Berry and in hand from day one, the subcontractors know exactly what they need to do in order to achieve the project goals Referring to this plan throughout the course of the job, Berry can then monitor progress on a regular basis.

Case-in-Point: Working with a roofing contractor prior to construction to outline his daily manpower and productivity rates, we discovered that the sub only allocated 5 men per day. At his projected productivity rate, he would not accomplish the job in the allotted time frame. This would not only put him off schedule, but it would prevent the building from being weather-tight, which would also delay other subs. Because we conducted this detailed planning before the start of construction, we were able plan for the proper resources. In this case, the roofing sub subcontracted out part of the job so that an additional 4 men could be on-site each day working at the same productivity rate.
